Poetry Is a Mirror

{November 18, 2012}   30 Poems in November: Poem #18

Oh no, oh no, oh no

You gotta be kidding me

I look up from the postitive pregnancy

test to look in the mirror to find a

tear in my eye and a smile on my face

I can feel my heart start to slow

down like a hibernating bear. My legs

begin to wobble like a newborn calf

trying to walk for the first time.

I hear a knock on the door.

Oh no, oh no, oh no
